Manufacturer`s Comments

The J.J.Taylor Contessa 26 is one of the best proven ocean-going designs available today, irrespective of size and the fact that this 26-footer has sucessfully completed any number of major blue water passages is a testimony to the construction quality of the yacht. J.J.Taylor contessa 26 was selected by Tania Aebi for her solo circumnavigation.
Part of  the reason for the appeal of this yacht to offshore sailors is that she is designed for safety and comfort at sea, while providing practical and tested accommodations below. The full keel ensures excellent
tracking and with 2,300 lbs of lead ballast, she can really stand up to a blow. She is not one the new ultralights and has seakeeping qualities and a motion trough the water usually associated with a much bigger
boat. So, while safety and comfort are prime considerations it is good to know that the J.J.Taylor Contessa 26 has very close winded sailing characteristics and is happy on all points of sail.
Because these boats are built to go anywhere, enormous attention is given to their construction to ensure years of trouble free sailing.
